By accessing or using Providence ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years of age to use Providence.
Providence is a contemplative companion for Scripture formation. The Service uses artificial intelligence to guide users through structured engagement with biblical texts. Providence is not a substitute for pastoral care, spiritual direction, therapy, or professional counseling.
You may create an account using email, magic link, or third-party authentication (Google). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed.
You agree not to:
Circles and Series allow users to share reflections ("carries") with group members. You retain ownership of content you create. By posting a carry, you grant Providence a non-exclusive license to display it to other group members. Circle and series leaders may remove carries that violate these terms. Users may report inappropriate content, which Providence will review.
Providence uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate questions and responses during Scripture sessions. AI-generated content is provided for contemplative and educational purposes only. It does not constitute theological authority, spiritual direction, or professional advice of any kind. Providence makes no guarantee about the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.
Scripture passages are provided through licensed APIs (ESV API, API.Bible). Scripture texts remain the intellectual property of their respective copyright holders and are displayed under their license terms.
You may delete your account at any time through Account settings. Account deletion has a 24-hour grace period during which you may cancel. After deletion, your personal data, sessions, and community contributions are permanently removed.
Providence reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior. We will provide notice when possible.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Providence does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Providence is not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Providence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
